Ladies Drawn Pairs
The drawn pairs was an exciting game with Muriel Hill and Chris Ashton taking a strong lead but, undaunted, Kim Moffatt-Smith and Kaye Hackett battled on to win the match by a narrow margin.

Men's Pairs and Men's Fours
In the Men's Pairs the pairing of Brian Pearson and Allyn White, the current holders of the title were keen to make it a double. John McKenna and Tony Martin put up a good fight but Brian and Allyn proved too strong.
Enjoying the support of the spectators, the Men's Fours team of John Seamer, Ian Szostak, Eddie Mastrantoni and skipped by Sandy Little settled in early and steadily drew away from their less experienced opposition, of brothers B.J. and Mick Sands, Jeff Hall and skipper Mick Allinson.

In perfect conditions for the Ladies Singles, Kelly White and Evie Exton enjoyed the support of the onlookers. Kelly took a steady lead and was delighted to win her first singles title.
The Ladies Triples match started well with the less experienced trio of Chris, Kaye and Anne holding their own against Nora, Phyllis and Molly but with an even score there was a lengthy postponement for bad weather. In much better conditions, and played in great spirit Chris, Kaye and Anne were delighted to run out as the winning team.

Evie Exton in her second final of the championships (the Ladies Pairs), paired up with grandmother Sylvia Exton against Kelly White and Philippa Saxon. A 'game of two halves', Kelly and Philippa pulled away with Evie and Sylvia making a good comeback in the second half. In a nail biting finish, Kelly and Philippa held on to win the match.
The Mixed Pairs saw Mick Sands and Susan Hughes, both in their first final, up against the experienced pairing of Allyn White and Phyllis Orr. Allyn and Phyllis drew steadily away leaving Mick to comment he had learned a lot and will be looking to do better in next year's game.

Men's and Open Finals
In perfect conditions Eddie Mastrantoni and John McKenna battled it out for the Men's final. A close game up the the final stages when Eddie pulled ahead to clinch the title. The game was played at the same time as the Open final with junior Evie Exton in her first final at the club playing very experienced Sandy Little. It was certainly a well watched game with a great deal of support for the players. Sandy pulled away from the start but Evie dug in and played strongly in the second half much to her credit. A nail biting game throughout and Sandy clinched the title.
Ladies Fours Finals
With an appreciative crowd enjoying this match played in ideal conditions the experienced team of Phyllis Orr, Violet Little, Nora Andrews and skipper Sandra Knox took the title against Lynn Julian, Mary Packham, Diane Kutzka and skipper Margaret Raedel.
100 Up Men's Final
It was a very close fought final with both Ken Steel and Don Jennings contesting their first Championship title. Ken was delighted with his win and Don commented, "I'll be back for another shot next year". That's the spirit.
