Bowls Premier League 2021 (at CBBC)
It was a really good day with the weather a bit on the breezy side which challenged quite a few people, but the cream came to the top. Organiser Anthony Exton commented, " Christies Beach Bowling Club were delighted to host the last qualifying round of the 2021 BPL Cup. A full house of 16 teams played on the day. The format was 2 bowl triples, with teams playing 3 sectional games, and the section winners playing off for 2 places in the next round at Mt Barker.Teams from Willunga, Edwardstown, Port Noarlunga and Adelaide bowling clubs made it through their sections winning all 3 games. The 2 finals were close, but Adelaide and Edwardstown eventually got through to the next round.
The club was busy during the day with music playing and a sensational atmosphere. Pies and Pasties provided by CJ’s bakery were a hit for lunch, and the spectators enjoyed the sunny but windy conditions. Thanks to all players, spectators and volunteers for helping host a great BPL Cup qualifier, and good luck to Adelaide and Edwardstown for the rest of the competition."
