LADIES TRIPLES
An interesting game with little between the teams of Chris Ashton, Kaye Hackett & Jacky Etherton against Kelly White, Muriel Hill & Kirsty Maroz. In slightly windy conditions, Chris's team slowly pulled clear in the final stages to take the title.

MIXED PAIRS
Played in perfect conditions, Lawrence Hodges and Margaret Raedel took a commanding lead and despite rallying a little in the middle of the game, Muriel and Brian Hill were unable to catch up with the opposition, who were in very good form.

OPEN SINGLES
In a match described as "a Masterclass" by one spectator, both Lawrence Hodges and Peter Saxon entertained the gallery with a first class match played in very friendly spirit.
'Hodgy' pulled away at the start and kept his nerve to win the title. The match was marked by Allyn White.

MEN'S SINGLES
The Men's Singles, played in good spirit in front of intrigued onlookers, saw Jim Scott romp away to a good start against Peter Saxon. Despite Peter putting up a good show, Jim continued keeping his foot on the pedal and was the worthy winner of the title. The match was marked by past champion Eddie Mastrantoni.

This was a closely contested match between Hodgy and Peter Saxon, with just 10 points between them.

In a high quality match played in front of an appreciative gallery, and despite playing a great game, Muriel Hill was unable to better the excellent game played by Kelly White, who retained her title. Phyllis Orr marked for them.

MEN'S TWO BOWL SINGLES
Played in ideal conditions, 'Hodgy' put on a good performance to win his first singles title of the year. Jamie McDonald had to concede defeat to his partner in the Men's Pairs.

MEN'S PAIRS
The Men's Pairs final proved challenging for all the players and was played over two days!
Hodgy and Jamie McDonald played the best in the atrocious weather conditions on day one, and were leading against Peter Saxon and Eddie Mastrantoni when greenkeeper Kevin Booth stopped play, as the green became unplayable.
On day two, in far more pleasant conditions, Peter and Eddie pulled back, briefly taking the lead, but in a nail biting last end, Hodgy and Jamie proved too strong and took the title.

The Ladies Pairs game was a very close call, with Muriel Hill partnered by Kirsty Maroz playing a solid game and winning the match against Philippa Saxon and Kelly White in a nail-biting finish.

This season saw the introduction of the Mixed Fours competition.
In a well-supported final, the team of Philippa Saxon, Chris Dedicoat, 'Hodgy' and Peter Saxon took on the experienced team of Nora Andrews, Phyllis Orr, Michael Hughes and Jim Scott.
After a slow start, skipper Peter Saxon's team drew away to clinch the title, with Chris Dedicoat delighted to be part of her first championship game.
