Work at CBBC during Covid 19 (24th June 2020)
At the beginning of “lockdown” Eddie Mastrantoni and Ian Szostak came up with the idea of upgrading the garden bed by the fire exit door. The bed was very overgrown and Kevin felt it was a great idea and the Executive Committee approved the expenditure.
Thanks go to Eddie, Ian and Allyn White who all spent many hours digging, building a wall and planting to accomplish the stunning garden bed that we now have. Joe Tiplady heard that Eddie wanted a birdbath as a centre piece for the bed and, as he had one that he wasn’t using, he kindly donated the one in the photograph. A bit of damage had been done to the toilet doors and as can be seen from the photographs, Don Jennings has painted them – I also think that Peter Saxon had a hand in there somewhere!
The other photos show the new lights in the car park which were installed at the end of the summer and many of you will not have seen. They certainly illuminate the car park on these dark winter nights.

Taylor's Cup at CBBC (added 18 Nov 2019)
CBBC were pleased to host a round of the Taylor's Cup on November 17th. It proved to be a very colourful afternoon with teams from Happy Valley, Marion, Edwardstown and McLaren Vale competing in Round 4 in the afternoon with host club Christies Beach taking on Hawthorn in the evening. This was a very tightly fought match with two wins for each side and down to a decider of a three end playoff played by the singles game players. Well done Brendan who clinched the win for the home side.
RSA Certificates (added 3 Nov 2019)
A number of club members have recently obtained RSA certificates. I wonder whose idea it was to issue the 'L' plate badges.

Pre-season Coaching Clinics (added 25 Aug 2019) Club President and Skills Training coach Eric Mason welcomed guest coach Lynton Modra of Morphett Vale Bowling Club on Sunday morning for the first of four sessions of pre-season coaching clinics. Lynton is well known and respected as an ex State player and State Women’s coach. Members responded positively and took up the challenge of improving their bowling. The session was interesting with good coaching tips and drills to practice in time for what we hope will be a good season for the club. You are never too old to learn and members from 9 to nearly 90 look forward to the next three sessions. See our club calendar for dates. To view more photos go to our photo gallery. |
